Sarah's Wedding Quilt

I've started a lot of quilts lately, but have not finished many. Hence the reason for my absence.  Finally I finished a quilt all the way through.  The motivation: it's owner, Sarah, is getting married tomorrow.  Talk about cutting it close!

The quilt top for this quilt was made over two years ago.  My mom and I made matching quilt tops one night.  We loved the pattern, we loved the fabric even more!  But in the light of the morning we realized the white sashings were not white, but an eggshell color.  We were upset.  It clashed with the whiteness of the bike fabric.  We both set them on our shelves for about a year.  My mom decided she couldn't get past the color and couldn't finish it.  But she loved the fabric too much to just scrap it. So she cut out each block!  That is dedication to fabric. :)

I let mine sit on the shelf for a while longer.  Then my best friend growing up and "sister" announced she was getting married.  For some reason this quilt came to mind.  I pulled it out and the off white wasn't so bad anymore.  The more I started to finish it (quilt it and bind it) the more I fell in love with it. Now that it is all finished I don't want to give it away. I love it!

Of course I'm still giving it to Sarah and her man.  She means the world to me and is very deserving of it.  Happily ever after Sarah and Stephen. And may this quilt get lots of use!

The back has flowers in little circles. They remind me of little wedding rings!
