UFO #14: Coneflower Quilt

This quilt has been exactly a year in the making.  I made the top part for my step-mom Robin for her birthday last year.  But it took until now to finish the rest.

One of the things that held me up was finding the right backing.  The problem with taking so long to make a quilt is that it is nearly impossible to find the same material a year later. But I was lucky.  I found the blue star print, but only a little bit of it.  Luckily it is in style right now to add things to the backs of quilts rather than having them one solid piece of fabric.

I appliquéd the cone flowers and blanket stitched around them.
