UFO #26: Gathered Squares
This quilt is for my mom's childhood friend's daughter's baby. Does that make sense? :0)
A while ago I had picked up some grays and pinks and when my mom said let's make a quilt for Sharon's granddaughter, I knew just the pattern. This is one I've been itching to try. Oh, it was so fun to make. (If anyone out there wants to learn how to make this quilt, I'd love to teach you. It is a great and easy way to learn how to gather.)
We decided to put fleece on the back and not to use any batting. I'd read, from another blog, about doing this on their baby quilts.
I hope it holds up as well. I like my baby quilts thin and maneuverable, better for wrapping babies. Fleece gave me that. I had to machine quilt around the gathered square so that it would keep its shape. My mom did the beautiful binding. She's a pro at it.
