Ombre Chevron Baby Quilt

(For Celeste)

I love, LOVE this quilt.  First, I love zig-zags.  They are so fun and easy to make when your making them the non-half triangle way.  Second, the quilting on this quilt, makes the quilt.  Third, I love using white fabric in quilts. It makes them so clean and modern.

My original plan was to have  4 shades of pink.  (I even have the 4th pink cut out.) However, I miss-calculated my fabric requirements and got 1/3 less than I needed. So if I would have put the 4th color in the quilt would have been oddly long.

The quilting on this quilt is my favorite! Once I got the hang of it it went smoothly and was very satisfying.  I used the soft, fuzzy Minky on the back.  I was very nervous to quilt the Minky after reading other posts about how difficult it can be because of how much stretch it has.  So, I pin and spray basted it for extra security.  And it went smoothly.  So smooth that there was never any mumbling under my breath (unlink the Minky quilt I am currently quilting for my little boy).
