I am very happy with the way it turned out, especially because it had a rocky beginning. My first design for it included a herringbone strip. I sewed all the strips together, cut it diagonally and was furiously annoyed at how off it was. So, it ended up in the garbage. (Which was depressing since it took a few hours to accomplish this disaster!) Herringbone...never again.
Well, the baby was born and the quilt wasn't even started. I switched gears to a very simple design. As it turns out, I love simple. Not just because I was able to put it together in under a week, but because simple is fun to. I just love the crispness of it. Also, deep inside I have a love for simple squares.
I quilted three lines in the sashing and love how it turned out.
I had this fabric picked out for when my little boy was born, but never got around to making it into a quilt. (Which is fine because he didn't need another baby blanket.) When my neighbor told me she was having a boy I knew I wanted to use this fabric. And I had recently gotten hooked on crocheting again. I found the cutest dinosaur pattern on Etsy. It wasn't my favorite thing to crochet, but he turned out so cute. My little boy is kinda in love with him. I'll defiantly need to make another one.
